What Remains extends Until It Ends by transferring photographic prints from that work into an ongoing process of immersion in water. Time and environmental conditions gradually transform the surfaces of the prints, while the photographic image slowly gives way to the material of the paper itself.

As Until It Ends continues to develop, new photographs are assigned to the field whose visual characteristics they most closely extend before entering the same process of immersion. Staining, bleaching, wrinkles, algae, sediment and other environmental traces accumulate over time, allowing each field to develop its own material history.

The work is deliberately open. The fields are not conceived as finished compositions but as evolving surfaces in which individual prints can be removed, returned to the process, replaced or rearranged.

The photographs are installed directly onto a magnetic wall system, allowing them to form continuous, borderless surfaces without visible fixings.
